Robert “Bob” Church, age 75, of Greenview, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 at his residence.

He was born on January 10, 1944 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Herman and C. Eileen Church.

Bob married Randra on June 5, 1964 and just celebrated 55 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Randra; children, Bob Church Jr of Greenview, Dave (Kelly) Church of Maryland, Mark (Becky) Church of Hamilton, IL; grandchildren, Tom, Henry, Brian Church of Maryland, Eric Church of Japan; Erin Church of Hamilton, IL, Michelle Ryan (Chris), Micheal (Crystal) Annerino; eight great-grandsons; one nephew, Tony (Leslie) Church; and many cousins, including one special cousin, Marilyn Deters.

He preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Bill Church.

Bob was employed at SIU School of Medicine as Security Guard and was a policeman for Greenview and Petersburg Police Departments for 20 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, outdoors, and family.  Bob loved his dogs and living in the country.

He loved police work and helping people and would like memorial contributions made to Petersburg Police Department, Menard County Rescue Squad, or charity of choice.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  No services will be held per Bob’s request.

  1. So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was one of my favorite police officers. He will be missed. I worked with him with the City of Petersburg, Illinois.
