Robert L. Ratliff

Robert “Bob” L. Ratliff, age 83, of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 at Rushville Nursing and Rehab in Rushville, Illinois.

Bob was born on September 28, 1942 the son of Cecil and Audrey (Greer) Ratliff.

He married Mary Westerfeld on August 23, 1964 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Petersburg, Illinois.

Mourning his passing are his wife, Mary; three daughters, Anita (husband Bill) Lengacher of Rochester, Marla Trendley of Maryville, and Teena (husband Jon) Halterman of Chatham; grandchildren, Amelia, Gage, Gabi, and Bella; two sisters, Kay and Barb; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a son, Steven Ratliff; and sister, Betty, and her husband Bill.

Bob attended Greer Technical Vocational School in Chicago, Illinois.

He owned and operated Pinecrest Autobody near Petersburg. Bob raised hogs for several years.

Bob was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Petersburg, Route 97 Crusaders, NHRA, NSRA, and NRA.

Bob enjoyed drag racing and archery.

He proudly served the Illinois National Guard and Reserves for eight years.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview.
