Robert Sandidge, age 90, of Athens, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at his residence with his family by his side.

Robert was born on January 6, 1935 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Earl and Dorothey Sandidge.

He married Donna Bennett on October 3, 1954.

Bob will be truly missed by his wife Donna of 70 years; his children, Robin Sandidge, Brad (wife Michelle) Sandidge, Jill Cleer, and Rich (wife Nicole) Sandidge; grandchildren, Clayton, Jessie, Jamie, Rhonda, Dan, Stevie, Chloe, Maddie, and Lexi; great-grandchildren, Marcello, Ella, Ava, Jonas, Casmir, Kade, Everett, Kassidy, Kylee, Brynn, Charlea, Lewis, Noah, and Ivy; great-great grandchild, Olin; one sister, Mary Gheen; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Earl Jr.

Robert graduated from Athens High School in 1953.

Robert was a union carpenter. He later started his own carpentry business.

He was member of the Athens Christian Church.

His passions included cooking, listening to music, reading history books, wood-working, train sets, and working in the yard.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Athens Chrisitan Church.
