Roberta Jean Clark

Roberta Jean Clark, age 95, Athens, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.

Roberta was born on May 19, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Ora and Dollie (Prescott) Walker. She was raised in Tallula, Illinois and attended Tallula High School.

She married Herschel “Glen” Clark on February 4, 1951, at Tallula Baptist Church.

Roberta belonged to the Petersburg Garden Club and New Salem Lincoln League. She volunteered at Theatre in the Park and Sunny Acres. She enjoyed ceramics years ago and loved spending time with family and friends.

Roberta is survived by her son, Gary (Sharon) Clark; grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Armitage and Gregory Wayne (Carissa McQuire) Clark; great-grandchildren, Carley, Will, Ella Armitage, and Grayson Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, Dollie and Ora; her husband, Glen; her brother, Billy Walker; her sister-in-law, Judith Walker; brother-in-law, Jackie “JC” Clark and his wife Joanne; brother-in-law, Donnie Clark; and her sister-in-law, Sylvia Palmer and her husband Tom.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. An additional visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30 from 9:00 until time of funeral services at 10:00 AM at the Athens Christian Church. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield.
