Lonnie Roher, age 65 of Athens, IL passed away on January 18, 2011 at St. John’s Hospice. He is survived by three sons, Thomas of Auburn, Brian of Mt. Pulaski & Jamie of Virden. A sister; Linda Milner of Fancy Prairie; a sister-in-law Katherine Roher of Springfield; cousin Dennis Allen of Cantrall; 4 Grandchildren; aunt Nadine of Cantrall
& several nieces & nephews Mr. Roher was born December 27, 1945 in Cornland, IL the son of John and Marguerite Guffey Roher. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Juanita Perkins, and a brother Francis Roher. Mr. Roher was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for over 20 years and then later worked for Walmart. Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral on Thursday Jan. 20, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. and where funeral services will be held on Friday Jan. 21, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Chance Newingham will officiate. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorials: American Cancer Society or “The Lonnie Roher Memorial Fund”.

sorry to hear about Lonnie’s passing. All sympathies to his sister and other relatives. Was glad to have the chance to know Lonnie and for the opportunity to help him in an hour of need. sam Davis, EACW, SSCI

So sorry to hear about Lonnie. Our sympathies go out to Linda and all Lonnie’s family. We knew him for a long time.

Andy and I enjoyed talking to Lonnie on several occasions, as well as getting to know his dog “Sparkie.” He was kind and friendly to both me and my son. We send condolences to Tom, Michelle,Courtney,Allie and the rest and the rest of Lonnie’s family.

was so sorry to hear of lonnies passing.We are missing hom and sparky dog.Have shared some dinners with him but we know that he is in a better place. GOD will be with his family in this time of sorrow. Melanie
