Ronald Lee Bryant

Ronald Lee Bryant, age 86, of Athens, Illinois met his Lord Savior On May 12, 2025 at 10:35am.

Ronald was born on January 26, 1939 in Athens, IL. The son of Maurine and Charles Bryant Jr.

Ronald Married Carol Ann Rheude on May 22, 1960. The couple remained happily married until Carol earned her wings on September 20, 2015.

Ronald was employed by Bunn Capital & Capital City Paper Company and worked there for 33 years as a truck driver and warehouse worker until his retirement in December 1996. 

Ronald enjoyed traveling, eating out, telling jokes, telling visitors that he was glad that they got to see him, and admitting that he was always right.

Ron was a great cook. He made the most amazing potato and vegetable soup, homemade chicken noodles, and so much more.

Ronald was a member of New Life Baptist church and served as a deacon for the church for several years.

Surviving are his children, Rev. Ronald L. (Linda) Bryant II, Suzanne Meiners (Darel Baum), Joseph Bryant, and Tasha (Alex) Pierce; grandchildren, Missionary Crystal Dawn Bryant, Zachary (Kaitlyn) Meiners, Kayla Meiners, Thomas Pierce, Caroline Pierce; great grandson Everett Meiners.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Carol, his Parents Maurine Denton and Charles Bryant Jr and stepfather Orville Denton and brothers William and Walter Bryant. 

Ron’s wishes were to not have any services or celebrations of life. He just wanted to be cremated and laid to rest.
