Sharon J. McIntire, age 78, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Heritage Health in Springfield, Illinois.
She was born May 28, 1939 in Springfield, Illinois the daughter of Noah and Irma (Lucht) Kern.
Sharon married Owen McIntire on May 18, 2006 in Springfield, Illinois.
She is survived by her husband, Owen; Sharon’s children, Jon (Marsha) Rohrer, Alice (Stan) Fraser, Elizabeth (Marcus) Christensen, and Fred (Pam) Rohrer; and Sharon’s step-son, David (Amy) McIntire, step-daughter, Denise Witzel RN; Sharon’s seven grandsons, two granddaughters, and two great-grandsons; and four sisters, Mary, Janie, Barb, and Judy.
Sharon was a mother and homemaker. She graduated from Harris High School in Petersburg in 1957.
She loved her plants, flowers, and her gardening.
Visitation for Sharon will be held from 9:00 until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. A private burial will be held at Salisbury Cemetery, immediately following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the “Sharon J. McIntire Memorial Fund”.
