Mildred N. Shinnebarger age 87, of Williamsville, went to be with her beloved James on Friday October 5, 2012.

She is survived by a son, David (Cathy) Shinnebarger of Mechanicsburg, a daughter, Peggy (Frank) Overmeyer of Williamsville, four grandsons: David Shinnebarger Jr., Daniel (Sammie) Shinnebarger, Michael (JoDee) Overmeyer, Joshua (Rachel) Overmeyer, and great-grandchildren: Kayla and Madelyn Overmeyer, Brooklyn Overmeyer, Joy and Paul Shinnebarger.

Mrs. Shinnebarger was born September 11, 1925 in Williamsville, IL the daughter of Joseph H. and Ollie L. Salmon Parsons.

She married James T. Shinnebarger on August 14, 1945 in Elkhart, IL. Jim preceded her in death on May 15, 2005. She is also preceded in death by six sisters Goldie Gaddie, Mallie Thornton, Grace Durst, Bernice Brennan, Teressa Lathrom, Betty Gochenour and one brother Joseph Parsons.

Mrs. Shinnebarger graduated from Williamsville High School in 1944. She had graduated from Beauty School in 1953 and then worked as a beautician for 37 years. She was a member of the Williamsville Christian Church. She loved bowling, traveled all across the U.S. and also volunteered 23 years at Lincoln Christian Nursing Home. Her greatest love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 8, 2012 and funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M on Tuesday, October 9 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.

Rev. David Beals Officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association

We always looked forward to seeing her name on the schedule. Once again we offer deepest condolences to the family of Millie. Her passing will be felt in our practice for a long time.

    Our family shares your grief and sorrow. Aunt Babe was always so sweet to us and loved me like one of her own children. It is no wonder to me why Grandpa Parsons was so proud of his “girls”.

  8. We are sorry for your loss Mike and JoDee and family. It is hard to say goodbye to someone that you have such good memories with. But always remember those memories are yours to keep and when you are feeling down, bring them out and enjoy. That is why she made her time with you special, so you will have that comfort as you need it.
