Harry L Smith Jr. age 57, of Athens died Sunday March 2, 2008 at his residence.

Survived by: Wife – Deborah Two Daughters – Tammy Smith of Indianapolis, IN Becky Smith of Springfield, IL One Son – Travis (Heather) Smith of Rushville, IL Three Step Daughters – Cheri (Don) Doolin of Kingston Springs, TN Cathy (Mark) Leathers of Mason City, IL Bobbie (JJ) Borski of Athens Two Step Sons- Chris (Amy) Hillyer of Lincoln, IL

Jim (Jean) Hillyer of Springfield 21 Grandchildren Father : Harry Smith, Sr. of Avon, IL Brother : Bob (Ruth Ann) Smith of Galva, IL Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Uncles & Aunts He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and a step-son, Scott Hillyer.

Mr. Smith was born February 11, 1951 in Macomb, IL, the son of Harry and Betty Smith Sr.

He married Deborah in 1983 in Rock Island, IL.

He graduated from Bushnell-Prairie City High School in 1969.

He entered the United States Navy in 1969, and proudly served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1978.

Harry worked for Ratheon, Hewlett-Packard, and Atlantic Tech Services as a computer technician.

Harry was a member of Athens Lions Club, the James C. Wade American Legion #129, Honorary member of the Athens VFW Post #5302, Co-Founder & President of the Athens Rodeo, and a member of the Athens Christian Church.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the Mott & Henning Funeral Home. Services will be held on March 5 at 10:00 AM at the Athens Christian Church with burial following at 2:00 PM in Avon, IL with military rites.
