Steinmetz, V. Marie

V. Marie Steinmetz passed away on October 7, 2011 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg. She has no survivors. Marie was born July 4, 1920, the daughter of Virgil & Betty Absher Knifley. Marie married Eugene Steinmetz in 1948 in Arkansas. She and her husband owned Gene & Marie’s Bar & Grill in Greenview. She is preceded in death by husband Eugene in 1987 and her parents and six brothers and sisters. Marie graduated from Waverly High School. No services will be held. Mott & Henning Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at Waverly East Cemetery. Memorials can be given to the “Athens Food Pantry”.
