Taylor, Margaret Jeanette

Margaret Jeanette Taylor, age 80, of Cantrall, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Regency Nursing Home in Springfield. She is survived by: three daughters; Kathy (John) Landis of Charlotte, NC, Vicki Taylor of Springfield, IL & Jody (Wade) Meteer of Athens, IL; and one Son – Timothy (Sandra) Taylor of Cantrall, IL; one brother; Robert Croft Sr. of Athens, IL one sister Joann Montgomery of Athens, IL; ten grandchildren & ten great-grandchildren & one great-great grandchild; several nieces & nephews & cousins. Mrs. Taylor was born September 10, 1930, in Middletown, IL the daughter of Thomas and Helen Ackerman Croft of Athens. Margaret married Thomas Herbert Taylor in Athens in 1948. They had been married for 55 years until his death on January 7, 2003. She is also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Donovan & Delmar Croft; two sisters, Charlene Tomlin & Naomi Gene Jones. She was a member of West Side Christian Church where she was a member of the Stephen Ministry and the Church Choir. She also served as a Sunday School Teacher and Greeter. Margaret graduated from Athens High School in May 1948. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens and where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM. Rev. Vaughn Beeman will be officiating. Burial will be at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens. Memorials: Charity of Choice.
