Ted Roth

Ted Roth, age 89, of Williamsville, Illinois passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026 at St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.

He was born October 9, 1936. in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of Norbert and Mabel “Louise” (Nevins) Roth.

Ted married Carolyn Cowan on October 5, 1958 at the Williamsville Christian Church.

Mourning his passing are his wife, Carolyn; daughters, Lisa (Tom) Mosley, Rebecca Stone (Aaron Morse), and Tracy (Richard) Deal; six grandchildren, Jessica Tranquilli, Marissa Stratton, Zackery Fox, Jennifer Brucks, Danielle Fox, Alexis Deal; twelve great-grandchildren; and eight nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Wood.

Ted graduated from Williamsville High School in 1954 and attended University of Illinois, where he was a member of the Farm House Fraternity.

He was a life-long area farmer and raised registered Black Angus Cattle. Ted was also owner/operator and President of Roth Farms, Inc.

Ted was a past member of the Williamsville School Board, Boys Club, and served as President of the Illinois Black Angus Association. He was also a member of the Williamsville Christian Church.

He enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and Illinois football and basketball teams. Ted also loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting activities.

Ted played for a softball senior league in Arizona for several years.

Visitation for Ted will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:30 AM at the Williamsville Christian Church with Rev. Shane Sims officiating. Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville, Illinois.
