Tomlin, Arthur Chatman

Arthur Chatman Tomlin, Sr., age 88 of Sierra Vista, Az. formerly of Athens, died at Life Care Center in Sierra Vista, Arizona on January 18, 2007. Mr. Tomlin had resided in the nursing home for the past 18 months.

Survived by; One Son- Arthur Chatman (wife Jean) Tomlin, Jr. of Hereford, AZ

Five Grandchildren-Pam (Dale,Sr.) Jeffries, Sheryl (Ken) Wells, Rick (Tammy) Dixon of Athens & Cantrall, IL.

Stacey Hernandez of Albuquerque, New Mexico

Tina Morga of Little Rock, Arkansas Six Great grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews

Mr. Tomlin was born in Athens, IL. December 3, 1918 the son of James and Roxanne Fife Tomlin.

He is preceded in death by his wife Charlene (Croft) Tomlin in 1995. Also he is preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kay (Tomlin) O’Brien and two infant sons Dale and Garrett. He is also preceded in death by 5 sisters, Marie, Mae, Catherine, Thelma, Roxy and 12 brothers, Isom, Orville, Clarence, James, Eugene, George, Harold, Thomas, Clifford, Joe, Larry and Ronald.

Mr. Tomlin lived in Athens area his entire life. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Tomlin was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Athens Baptist Church. Mr. Tomlin was a retired machinist for Allis Chalmers in Springfield, IL.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Mott & Henning Funeral with Masonic services at 6:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 A.M at Mott & Henning Funeral Home.
