Judith Ann VanMeter, age 65, of Sherman, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011 at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, Sr.; children, Jerry Jr. (Missy) VanMeter, Shelley (Dusty) Richardson, and Jeffrey (Tonya) VanMeter, all of Sherman; nine grandchildren, Nikki Johnston, Allie VanLeer, Danielle VanMeter, Amanda Richardson, Dustin Richardson, Cassie Richardson, Grace Richardson, Isabella VanMeter, and Cody Donoho; a sister, Jerilyn (Rich) VanMeter of Athens; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Stephen Conover; and granddaughter, Mackenzie Jewell VanMeter.
Judy was born March 15, 1946 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Neva Smith Conover.
She graduated from Springfield High School. Judy married Jerry Allen VanMeter, Sr. on September 26, 1964 at Cantrall United Methodist Church.
She was a member of the Riverton Christian Church and worked and retired from St. John’s Hospital as a Clerk Receptionist. Judy enjoyed playing cards and games with family and friends including her close friend Loretta Chapman.
Visitation will be held at Riverton Christian Church from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday August 24, 2011. Thursday August 25, 2011 a visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, the time of funeral services at the church.

Burial will be held at Fancy Creek Cemetery near Sherman.
Memorials can be made to Riverton Christian Church.
Mott & Henning Funeral Home, Athens, is assisting the family with arrangements.
