Violet Serena, age 79, of Cantrall, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.
Violet was born on July 29, 1939 the daughter of Albert and Christina Bartlett.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; one daughter in law, Kim Neuhoff; three grandchildren, Cory Neuhoff, Shannon Moser and Shawn Neuhoff; several great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Violet is preceded in death by both parents; one son, John Neuhoff; one brother, Jimmy Bartlett and one sister, Dorothy Large.
Violet worked at various places in Springfield and retired from Johnson & Johnson Auto Service as a bookkeeper.
She was a lover of animals and enjoyed all types of sewing.
Visitation for Violet will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 10-11 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, IL. Services will immediately follow at 11 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home.
Burial will be held at Joel Hall Cemetery.
Shane Baker will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the “Alzheimer’s Association.”

Jerry — and family
My sympathy to you. It is always hard to lose a love one, especially at this time of year.
Sorry I was unable to attend the services. I will be sending a memorial contribution to
the Alzheimer’s Association.
