Wanda June Hollis, age 90, of Petersburg, passed away on Saturday December 24, 2016 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home.

She is survived by her son Dave (Judy) Hollis of Petersburg; three grandchildren, Heather (Aaron) Hesselson, Gabe Hollis, and Zack Hollis; two great-grandchildren, A.J. and Kenny; a brother, Henry (Vickie) Hillen; and several nieces and nephews.

June was born September 4, 1926 in Chandlerville, Illinois, the daughter of John Henry and Anna Marguerite Hillis Hillen.

June married Kenneth Hollis on June 27, 1947 at Westside Christian Church in Springfield.  He preceded her in death on August 6, 2003.

She worked for the State of Illinois for several years before retirement.

June was a member of the Westside Christian Church in Springfield.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 9:00 until 10:00 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.  Graveside services to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield.

Rev. Vaughn Beeman will be officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mott & Henning Funeral Home is assisting the Hollis family.
