Kelly, William “Bill”

William “Bill” R. Kelly, age 77, of Sherman, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen; son, Michael Kelly; daughter, Lori Kelly; four step-children, Terry, Kathy, Steve, and Mike; five grandchildren, Jolinda Kelly, Melissa Kelly, Riah Kelly, Kylan Kelly, and Kiri Kelly; eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Jean) Kelly of Ohio; one sister, Kathy (Fred) Peterson of Iowa; several nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by a son, Matt, and his parents.

Bill was born January 23, 1936 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Robert Harrison and Alberta M. (Kepler) Kelly.

He married Kathleen on February 14, 2004 in Sherman.

Bill worked for Square D in Lincoln, Nebraska for 23 years and later as plant manager for Eaton Electric in Lincoln, Illinois for 22 years.

He loved to hunt, fish, and especially his dogs. Bill was an active member of Ducks Unlimited.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.

Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to Living Faith Baptist Church in Sherman.
