William Howard

William Howard, age 81, of Tallula, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

William is preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Alvin, Dale, Reed, Gerald, and Doris.

He was born March 25, 1934 in Bolckow, Missouri, the son of William B. and Selma D. (Newburn) Howard.

William served for the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 and during that time he served in Korea for one year, five months, and twelve days.

He attended a trade school to be a mechanic. William retired from Mid American Truck Lines and Village of Tallula.

He was a Post Commander of AMVETS Post 257 in Springfield.

Memorials can be made to AMVETS Post 257 in Springfield.

Cremation rites will be accorded.
