William Taapken

William Taapken, age 69, of Ashland, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at his residence.
William was born on September 20, 1949 in Ashland, IL, the son of Russell and Edith Taapken.
He is survived by his sons, William Taapken, Jr., Alexander Taapken, and Jacob Taapken; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, W. J. “Bub” Taapken; sister, Bessie June Hunter; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell Taapken, Jesse Taapken, and Norvell Taapken; sisters, Bertha Ratleph, and Betty White.
William was a maintenance manager for several companies. He was a “Jack of All Trades” and was an avid “Junker”.
A private burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery and a Celebration of Life for William will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to “William Taapken Memorial Fund” to help pay for the funeral expenses.
Mott & Henning Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Hope your feeling no pain and smiling down on us now. You will be missed. Sure would of been nice to be at your celebration of life but I was told they were doing it next weekend so I assume some people weren’t wanted there not sure why. Rest In Peace. Love ya
